What i use on my mobile to organize my busy days

Ii use the two previously mentioned apps but mostly i use the calendar the most, this gives me a synchronization with my works outlook calendar so i can put reminders in both to help remember to be at appointments and also to remind me to do things.

I also use email and if anyone asks me to do something i will ask them to email me to remind me.
i will mark the email as not read if i need to deal with it later.

I have a calculator and a converter which will do length mass etc and i regularly use a London underground app for the tube journeys i take.

these may all seem like general day to day apps but to me they are how i get by on a day to day basis and i would struggle badly without them.

using software to organize and keep track of things

My latest fad to keep on track of things has been Dropbox and Evernote.
i use Dropbox for storing my files and pics etc and be able to access them anywhere i want.
it can be installed on a computer/mac and almost any mobile device and i use it on my Samsung Galaxy S with android.
Evernote is similar but a means to create an instant note pic of recording and have it stored and be available anywhere just like Dropbox is.

two handy apps/programs i use daily to keep track and organised.

How it happened

I have recently become dyslexic; well that’s not exactly the truth.

I recently found out I am dyslexic.

You see I work for an assistive technology company and I was recently asked to assist in the set up of an access centre.

I got chatting with one of the assessors there and mentioned that from a previous BDA course I did a little self diagnosis and it turned out I was dyslexic, the assessor said the next time your down here I will assess you.

This sent shivers down my spine and gave me some serious anxiety bouts.

I wanted to know but I did not want to be “officially told” that I am not dyslexic and all my difficulties were from being simply stupid.

These last feelings come from school age where I was constantly marked down and failed for bad handwriting, slow reading and day dreaming (short term memory was perceived as day dreaming when I was actually struggling to take in what I was being taught).

So after some deliberation I decided I needed to know either way.

I took up the kind offer and arranged to meet earlier than our next appointment to be assessed before work.

It was an intense and quite tiring assessment and the results were conclusive that I am Dyslexic.

Now why am I blogging this on here you ask, well my reasons are to share my day-to-day experiences with others struggling with dyslexia to show how similar we all are and in many cases different, and to offer the information on how I overcome my “learning difficulty”.

I intend to share my worries, experiences and my tricks and traits on getting by in a day to day living and working experience.

I will not have all the answers and my answers will NOT work for all, but I welcome feedback and suggestions and I will share them with all on here and in my work where I am the Training and Development Manager working with disabled people.
